Call to ArtistsThe Windsor Education Foundation is seeking Connecticut Artists for their public art exhibition, Paws for a Cause.
Paws for a Cause artists will create their own design on a three dimensional fiberglass dog figure. The event is open to visual artists including painters, photographers, fiber artists and new media artists.
Artists interested in being considered may submit up to five design ideas for review. Artists will be paid an honorarium for each design selected for production that yields a finished dog approved for exhibition.
Timeline:
* Artist Submissions due by October 20, 2008 (date extended)
* Art Panel Review in November
* Sponsors Select Artists on October 30, 2008
* Artist Notification / Commission November 4, 2008
* Dogs to arrive by December 2008 / January 2009
* Dogs to be finished by May 15, 2009
* Display on the green at different times May - August 2009
* Display at sponsor locations Sept - Oct 2009
* Hunt Sept - Oct 2009 (with some on the green for Chili Challenge)
* Auction - end of October 2009
Only selected artists will be notified following the review process.
Submission Deadline is October 20, 2008. All materials must be received by 4pm. Submission materials will not be returned. There are no entry fees.
