The Windsor Education Foundation (WEF) welcomes new board members, Janet Lomba, Kandyce Aust, and Johnleia Lambert.
“We are sorry to say good bye to outgoing board members Daniell Hynes, Kathryn Grimshaw Parker and Krystal Myers. I am grateful for their hard work and leadership over the last several years,” says newly elected president, Paula Pierce. “With their help we were able to continue our goal of providing $15,000 per year in grants to our local educators.”
This trio of motivated, forward-thinking women has already shown great dedication to the Windsor Education Foundation.
Kandyce Aust has worked in higher education (University of Saint Joseph, University of Hartford), and has held leadership positions at area nonprofits in fundraising, grant writing and program development. She is honored to be able to provide valuable skills to WEF. Education and innovative programming were always an important component of each position that she held.
Johnleia Lambert is a highly motivated professional with experience in public health, community outreach, and project support, seeking to leverage skills in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation. She has a proven ability to support program effectiveness, conduct data-driven initiatives, and build strong community relationships. She is eager to apply her expertise in project coordination, communication, and problem-solving to advance the healthy development and well-being of children, families, and communities.
Janet Lomba has strong ties to Windsor. She was born and raised here and while currently residing in Windsor Locks, still spends much time in town and attending townwide functions. She has a vested interest in the schools here as her great nephew will be attending Windsor Public Schools. She has strong book keeping skills, as well as fundraising abilities. She has served on other boards in the past and currently serves on the Library board in Windsor Locks. She is very excited to apply her skills to WEF.
The WEF Board of Directors commits to monthly board meetings and participation in WEF fundraising activities throughout the year including collecting Geissler’s receipts, Breakfast at Dom’s Broad Street Eatery, and Designer Purse Bingo.
Windsor Education Foundation encourages community support for excellence in public education and provides funding for innovative projects and programs in the Windsor Public Schools. For more information about the Windsor Education Foundation please go to www.WindsorEducationFoundation.org.
