Lorraine is pleased to say that she is a Windsor native. As a graduate of the University of Connecticut, she earned a BS and MA in Education and taught for thirty-four years in Windsor and Bloomfield. Prior to her retirement, she spent many years working in the areas of reading remediation, as well as providing instruction and coordinating district support for English Learners in the Bloomfield Public Schools.
While raising her two sons in Windsor, Lorraine volunteered on numerous school and town committees, and was a member of the Windsor Independent Living Association (WILA) Board of Directors and Admissions Committee for six years.
As a member of Friends of Northwest Park, Lorraine can be found attending concerts and events at NWP, and at First Town Downtown Summer Concert Series on the Windsor Town Green. Since her retirement she has been traveling, reading, gardening, providing assistance to her family, and sharing adventures with friends and colleagues.
As a member of the Connecticut Education Association-Retired, she believes in encouraging all educators by supporting enriched experiences for all students, in particular speakers of other languages. She is thrilled to be on the Board of the Windsor Education Foundation.
