The Windsor Education Foundation funds Windsor Public School’s efforts to build the CT Kid Governor Program

Thirty-eight (38) 12th Grade students from the AP U.S Government & Politics class have taken the lead to introduce the CT Kid Governor program to all students in 5th Grade throughout Windsor Public Schools.  The AP students presented an overview of the program as well as an overview of the three branches of government.  The goal is to elect a Windsor student as 2018 CT Kid Governor.]

The 12th graders returned to Clover and JFK during October to deliver lessons on building an effective campaign platform and choosing an issue.  Through their work as campaign consultants to the 5th graders, the older students are enhancing their understanding of government and politics, as well as gaining experience in presenting and in engaging with younger students.

Clover Street School 5th grader, A’aliyah Grimes is one of seven finalists.  Check out her campaign video here:   http://ct.kidgovernor.org/2017-election-candidates
